What happens when we do yoga? How yoga is different from other exercise?

Yoga is anabolic which conserve energy / Exercise is catabolic which is capable of breaking down the energy. Yoga practices slow dynamic movements / Exercise involves rapid forceful movements. Yoga practices reduced muscle tension, progressive movements / Exercise involves increased muscle tension.

Sun and body relation:

Without heat from the sun the earth would freeze . Our body produce vitamin D when exposed to sunlight, and 15 mins in the sun in a day is enough. Vitamin D helps our body to maintain calcium which is an essential for our bones.

Traditionally in Ashtanga Lineage, practitioners observe Moon days (new moon and full moon ) as holidays. We don’t do physical practice on that day and consider it as holiday for body and take rest, maybe only do pranayama and meditation on that day and simply regenerate and give rest to our body.
